Gone are the days of sitting around the kitchen table for home-cooked meals! In recent years, Americans have spent more money on restaurant food than on groceries. Although money spent on food in both categories is up, Quartz.com reports that “retail sales at eating establishments have grown much faster.” Perhaps this recent spike has much to do with the growing number of women in the workforce, as the online news source suggests.
